I’ve refreshed this blog to include all my photos from recent travels, including those from a 4-month trip to Nepal and India in 2011/12. Most of my recent work related blogs can be found on the Department of Health digital health site.
While in Nepal I pushed my fitness to its peak, trekking in the Himalayas for 6 weeks, where we carried our own gear up to a whopping 5,600metres. We made it out to Annapurna Base Camp, Gokyo’s 5th lake, Everest Base Camp and Kalla Pattar, survived the world’s most dangerous airport in Lukla and an 11-hour bus ride back to Kathmandu that was definitely a lot more dangerous!
Surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery, and then the spectacular Mughal architecture in Rajasthan, India, I also got the photography bug. Fortunately my photography skills got better while I was out there, though I’m still in the early days of learning what I’m doing.
